Snarfdude and Daffodil

Since 2002 Internet radio fans around the world have been
tuning in with delight and disgust to Cheeze Pleeze, hosted by Snarfdude
and by first Moondog, and now currently, Daffodil. Each week the duo drops
an irreverent mix of alternative cuts, celebrity oddities, novelty tunes
and remakes sure to shock awe entertain and even baffle listeners. The original
series ran 46 shows from February 2002 through May 2003 when the guys decided
to take an extended leave. Those shows ran 60-minutes and found a solid
fanbase and several affiliates online. You’ll find some of the original
shows and eventually all of them available on archive.org. When those original
46 proved even more popular in reruns, picking up many new affiliates and
fans, Snarfdude and Moondog decided to revive Cheeze Pleeze in 2004. The
results can now be heard as Snarfdude and Daffodil present Cheeze Pleeze,
Series 2. Trimmed down to a slimmer, uninterrupted 30-minute package, many
of the original series features continue including the Celebrity Slip Up.
In addition, you’ll hear fun features like the Glove Compartment Gouda,
One Hit Wonder Why’s, Chart-Topping Cheezies, Catbox Coverups, and
Monster Truck/WWE flavored “Twin Tunes Death Match”. It’s
a fast-paced half-hour of the weirdest tracks ever laid to anyone’s
ears compiled for your listening pleasure by two questionable nut jobs who
agree that this is the true alternative music. And you Uncle Skeeter groupies
can get your fix as the slightly greasy and kinda creepy character is here
to introduce and close out the show. Snarfdude and Daffodil welcome and
encourage indie artists from around the world to send their CDs or MP3 links
for play on Cheeze Pleeze hey, you never know who might be listening! Among
those who have already done this is Chance Langton and the Modest Lads.
They’ve also helped renew interest in some obscure songs, like “Disco’s
In the Garbage” and “Coffee Shop Cop” both of which are endorsed
by the artists/producers to be placed on the show download page, and played
on the show. http://www.cheezepleeze.com |

I began broadcasting in hospital radio in his hometown of
Chesterfield during the mid-80s before moving on to FM and AM stations in
the north of England. A self-confessed ‘radio nut’, in recent
times Ian has presented shows on several radio stations, including Secklow
105.5 (FM station in Milton Keynes) where he still presents shows, Leighton
Buzz Radio, and Cambrian Radio in Wales and 121 Radio in Belgium. Ian is
passionate about music, particularly from the late sixties through to the
mid-nineties, though he freely admits he knows next to nothing about chart
music in the 2000s. His favorite genre by far is rock, from the sixties
through to the present day. He may not know much about current chart acts,
but he’s certainly right up to date with what’s going on in rock
music. “I like the classic rock artists such as AC/DC, Thin Lizzy,
Led Zeppelin and co, but there are also so many great new rock bands around.
I’ve become a little obsessed with The Dust Coda, a four-piece band
from London, for example. Every time I hear one of their songs I want more
and I really enjoy tapping into new acts.” I present The Rock Block,
which he describes as “easy listening rock” if there can be such
a thing. Classics from most rock genres, including soft-rock, prog, punk
and glam, plus new music and a special category called “rock which
may not even be rock.” Everything is radio-friendly; there’s no
nail-your-head-to-the-floor thrash metal or similar. Just great music that
fans of most genres will enjoy. https://www.rockblockradioshow.com |

opSound emerges as the evolution of the Euro Indie Music Chart,
the European indie ranking created by the European Indie Music Network.
It distinguishes itself with a unique approach, forming a "league of
nations" involving the best artists from each represented country.
The classification process occurs weekly, assigning scores based on artists’
positions in the Euro Indie Music Chart. The scoring system awards 12 points
to the first country, 10 to the second, 8 to the third, 7 to the forth and
so on. Artists represent their countries, contributing to a national ranking,
fostering a sense of competition and national pride. The chart is compiled
based on artists’ results in European Indie Music Network-affiliated radio
broadcasts and audience preferences. Public participation is encouraged
through online voting for favorite songs, with a technical multiplier assigned
by the staff impacting the rankings. In case of a tie, the nation with the
best placement is awarded. If the best placements are equal, the number
of times placed is taken into account. In case of further tie, the one who
achieved the placement first counts. |
